I never planned on running for Congress.
Like a lot of people in our district, I was focused on my family, my work, and trying to build something stable in a world that feels more uncertain every year. I’m a husband. I’m a father. I’m a veteran. I’ve worked for everything I have. And for a long time, I just assumed that Washington would eventually get its act together.
But at some point, you stop waiting.
I watched families around me get squeezed harder every year. Rent climbing, insurance exploding, groceries costing more than ever, and paychecks barely moving. I watched seniors who spent their lives building our communities start worrying about whether they could afford to stay in it. I watched veterans fight for benefits they already earned. And I watched small businesses struggle under inflation and red tape while politicians argued on TV.
None of that felt theoretical anymore. It felt personal.
I’m not running because I think I have all the answers. I’m running because I believe leadership should come from people who actually live under the consequences of the decisions being made. I’ve felt the pressure of providing for a family. I’ve seen how broken systems wear people down. I’ve seen how fast one unexpected expense, a government shutdown, or even job loss can knock a household off balance.
This campaign is about bringing common sense back into the conversation.
We don’t have to be extreme to care about public safety. We don’t have to be wealthy to understand economics. And we certainly don’t have to be a career politician to serve honorably.
Florida’s 22nd District is made up of working families, retirees, veterans, federal employees, entrepreneurs, caregivers, renters, and homeowners. We don’t all agree on everything, but most of us agree on the basics:
We want safety, stability, affordability, opportunity, and dignity.
That shouldn’t be controversial.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing exactly where I stand on the issues that matter most to our district. Specifically, housing, seniors and caregivers, children and families, veterans, small businesses, public safety, border security, and disaster preparedness.
I’ll be transparent about the challenges, and clear about what I believe needs to change.
It’s important to note that you don’t have to agree with me on everything to be part of this campaign. You just have to believe our district deserves leadership that listens, works, and shows up.
If that sounds like something you believe in too, I’d be honored to have your support.
